Responsible drinking in student associations through the availability on non-alcoholic beer

Owners : Nederlandse Brouwers
Stakeholders : Dutch Chamber of Student Associations Ministry of Health
The Dutch Brewers Association in cooperation with the Dutch Chamber of Student Associations promotes responsible drinking on student associations. Dutch breweries do this by making sure that non-alcoholic beers are available to associations (increasingly in the form of tap beer). Some 66% of student associations or student sports associations now have non-alcoholic beers available.

Individual brewers also promote non-alcoholic beer by sampling, providing promo-material and by organising promo-actions. The Dutch Brewers Association in cooperation with the Dutch Beer Knowledge Institute distributed a flyer with accompanying online quiz among incoming students in various university cities during the introduction period to promote non-alcoholic beers.

This commitment is part of the National Prevention Agreement to which the Dutch Brewers Association, the Chamber of Student Associations and the Ministry of Health (and many other organisations) are participants.
