German Brewers’ Association adopting the Brewers’ Code

Owners : Deutscher Brauer-Bund
To prevent abuse, the breweries united in the German Brewers’ Association have adopted the Brewers’ Code as a clear guideline. In it, the companies gathered under the umbrella of the DBB make a clear commitment to responsible beer consumption and reject abusive consumption patterns, the trivialisation of excessive alcohol consumption and advertising aimed at young people.

The Brewers’ Code also contains an offer for dialogue: The cooperation of the brewing industry is offered to social groups and institutions as well as government agencies and authorities at the federal, state and local levels, also within the framework of alliances, in order to enable young people and adults to deal responsibly with alcoholic beverages, to become aware of the risks and harmful consequences of excessive alcohol consumption at an early stage and thus to effectively combat and ultimately prevent the development of alcohol-related harm in advance.
