Consume with pleasure and moderation

Owners : Union of Brewers in Bulgaria (UBB)
Since February 2012 the Union of Brewers in Bulgaria’s Code for Responsible Commercial Communications and Ethical Standards requires that all beer advertisements carry the message, in Bulgarian, “Consume with pleasure and moderation”, the aim being that a message raising awareness about moderate beer consumption acts as a “trademark” for the Bulgarian brewers’ commercials.

In 2017 UBB Managing Board and General Assembly (2018) approved amendments of the Code for Responsible Commercial Communications and Ethical Standards adopting Principles and Guidelines for Responsible Digital Marketing Communications, following The Brewers of Europe SR standards.

In 2019 UBB Managing Board and General Assembly (2020) approved Principles of the Union of Brewers in Bulgaria for Working with Brand Promoters, a document which is an Appendix to the UBB Code for Responsible Commercial Communications.

In 2021 UBB Code for Responsible Commercial Communications and Ethical Standards was reviewed. New updated rules address restrictions re beer commercials and minors, responsible drinking and driving, sponsorships and events – audience groups, minors and beer branding. The final provisions will be adopted together with the updated Rules for work with influencers.

In 2019 Union of Brewers in Bulgaria for its public communications received the Special Award of the Ethics Commission of the Bulgarian Association for Public Relations.
