Memorandum of Understanding on listing ingredients and nutrition information for alcoholic beverages and the Brewers Ambition 2022

In 2019 the Austrian Brewers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on listing ingredients and nutrition information for alcoholic beverages and the Brewers Ambition 2022 that ingredients and energy information (in kj/kcal per 100ml) figure on the label of all pre-pack beer containers provided to consumers in the EU.

By June 2021, a full ingredients list appeared on over 90% of beer labels, whilst over 60% of beers were labelling energy values, in full conformity with the provisions of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on the provision of food information to consumers.
